PLAY! Community Weekend is a fictional community festival identity project set in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Inspired by the city’s red-brick buildings, warehouse blocks, and wide streets, the concept brings a sense of warmth and new energy to an industrial urban fabric. The visual system is built on soft-yet-saturated colors and modular geometric patterns that are repeatable and highly extensible, creating a consistent signature across posters, staff passes, totes, and other collateral. It also scales naturally into public-space applications—street decals, temporary installations, and an entry gateway—so the city itself feels “activated” for the event. The project aims to place Cleveland’s industrial character and community vitality side by side, using bright rhythm and playful patterning to invite people outdoors, re-occupy the block, and linger together—turning an ordinary weekend into a shared public playground.
